as part of my quest for health, inspiration, and identity, i just took a week's staycation. for a while now, having time to myself has seemed impossible. but i thought hard about when i could possibly carve it out, and after some work to ensure my projects were in order, made it happen.
i was telling a friend at the playground about this, and she told me she has a name for days that she gets to herself while her child is in daycare. they are "golden days" because they are so valuable and rare. i agree, they are rare and sometimes seem like a luxury that i cannot afford. but there came a point (say, after being sick for three months straight) where i had to recognize the toll of not taking time to rest.
in the next few posts i will share some of the delightful outcomes and products of my golden week.
in the meantime, i encourage you to ask: is there anything you would like in your life that seems impossible now? are you sabotaging yourself from attaining it? can you take responsibility for creating it?
